Trip Description:
Students will explore Georgia history as they tour the exhibits at the Richard B. Russell Special Collections Library, participate in a historic walking tour of UGA's North Campus, and view historical media footage at the library.
Guidelines for the trip:
o You are responsible for transportation to the trip site.
o Review your assigned tour route before hand!
o Arrive at the Special Collections by 9:00 am
o Be prepared to engage with middle school students!
o Do not have any food or drink with you during the trip.
o Ensure that all students arrive at their destination.
o Have fun with the students!
Trip Schedule:

9:30 - 9:45 am - Arrival of Students at Hull Street

9:45 - 11:15 am - Activity 1

1/2 at Gallery Tour, 1/2 at North Campus Walking Tour

11:15 - 11:50 am - Lunch outside of Special Collections Library (Indoors if raining)

11:50 am - 1:20 pm - Activity 2

Groups swap and do opposite of morning activity

1/2 at Gallery Tour, 1/2 at North Campus Walking Tour

1:20 pm - Dismiss and Load Buses at Hull Street
Rain Plan:
In case of rain, or threat of rain, the trip will use its alternate rain plan. Instead of participating in the North Campus Tour, students will engage in a history presentation and media viewing activity in the Special Collections Library Auditorium.
