Description

Come create a memorable field trip experience for Athens kids, network with other UGA students and staff, and build your resume by volunteering on campus for one or more days with Clarke County 2nd grade students!

No prior health knowledge or teaching experience is necessary!

Trip Description: The 2nd grade students will travel around the Health Sciences Campus attending fun, health-related stations covering physical activity, nutrition, hand-washing and germ spread, and bullying prevention. Station leaders and event guides are needed for each day. Feel free to sign up for multiple days and different roles!

  Orientation for this trip is required. Orientations will be held at the following times and locations:

  • Wednesday, March 29th @ 6p on the Health Sciences Campus in Russell Hall 217
  • Sunday, April 2nd @ 2p on the Health Sciences Campus in Wright Hall 120

Guidelines for the trip:

o    You are responsible for transportation to the Public Health Campus.

o    Arrive at Pound Hall by 9:00 am 
o    Be prepared to engage young children. 
o    Do not have any food or drink with you during the trip.
o    Must stay for the entirety of the trips.

o    Have fun with the children!

Rain Plan: In case of rain, the trip will still occur as planned.

Must have attended an orientation for Experience UGA before volunteering for this trip.

Ambassadors each will have a group of students that they will rotate through each station, ensuring that everyone moves in a timely manner and directing people to stations and restrooms as necessary. You will stay with your same group for the entirety of the trip.2/8Over
