Trip Description: Student will arrive on campus at 9:30 am and receive a welcome in their respective rooms at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. Beginning around 10:00 am, students will engage in activities and discussion with Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention Advocates to discuss healthy and meaningful relationships. At 11:00 am, they will transition to lunch and participate in a brief presentation and discussion with UGA Law Students about their roles and legal expectations as adults. To conclude that day, the students will participate in a Life 101 simulation with the Fanning Institute, where they will engage in life post- high school, beginning around 12:15 pm. Students will receive simulated jobs, families, life roles and be faced with real life scenarios for which they will have to make decisions. This trip will conclude at 1:30 pm.

    • 9:30-9:45 Students Arrive to the Coliseum via Smith St. Bus Stop/Nametags/Welcome; move to rooms
    • 9:55-10:55 Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention Peer Advocate Activities in Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Rooms C,D,E
    • 10:55-11:05 Transition to the Coliseum
    • 11:05-11:25 Legal Presentation in the Athletics Meeting Room
    • 11:25-12:00 Lunch Distributed in Coliseum Lobby (side near Athletic Academic Center) and small group conversation
    • 12:00-12:10 Simulation Presentation in Athletics Meeting Room
    • 12:10-12:20 Transition back to Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Rooms C,D,E
    • 12:20-1:20 Life 101 Simulation in Continuing Education Center Rooms
    • 1:20-1:25 Assessment Distributed in Conference Center Rooms
    • 1:25-1:30 Move to buses behind the Coliseum on Smith St.

A brief orientation will be provided at the beginning of your shift.

Guidelines for the trip:

o    Come to the Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Rm. E for welcome volunteers and the Coliseum lobby on the Smith St. side for all other shifts
o    Be prepared to engage Clarke County 12th graders. 
o    Do not have any food or drink with you during the trip.
o    Do not leave until the end of your shift
o    Have fun with the students!

Rain Plan:

o    The trip will have to be rescheduled.
o    We will make our decision by 8:15 AM the morning of the trip, and will let you know as soon as possible after that.
o    Check your UGA e-mail regularly as that is where you will receive notification of updates regarding the trip.
