Dawgs Ditch the Dumpster and Donate

Sustainable UGA Housing needs your help! Help our Housing staff as we try and make this move-out event ZERO WASTE! We will have over 7,500 students moving out from Friday April 27th through Saturday May 5th! Many of these students will be getting rid of their dorm items (think futons, fans, shelves, clothing, electronics, etc). Instead of sending those items to the landfill we will be collaborating with many local non-profits to donate these items! We usually average around 56,000 lbs diverted from the landfill each year!

We started this event, which we call "Dawgs Ditch the Dumpster and Donate" back in 2013 and we need many student volunteers to help us move these items. Some items will be taken in a rolling bin to a nearby donation trailer, other items will be organized inside the dorms for the smaller non-profits to come pick them up. We need volunteers to help keep the donations organized and moving to the proper locations throughout move-out.

UGA student volunteers will receive a free T-shirt, a $10 Goodwill Gift Card, gift cards to local eateries, AND great KARMA just in time for finals and the summer!
