Description
The Athens Area Community Foundation, United Way of Northeast Georgia, and UGA's Institute for Nonprofits have joined together to offer free training to the Northeast Georgia nonprofit community. A series of five trainings was designed to meet the training needs of leaders and staff in Northeast Georgia area nonprofits. 

This fifth Capacity Building Training is a discussion about Fundraising led by Dr. Kristina Jaskyte Bahr, Assistant Professor at the University of Georgia's School of Social Work. Nonprofit staff and board members are encouraged to attend.

During this training, the following topics will be discussed:
  • Roles and Responsibilities of nonprofits board
  • The board building cycle- understanding steps to finding, recruiting, and engaging board members to increase board effectiveness
  • Sharing leadership: Board/CEO partnership
  • Structuring the board
  • The board's role in fundraising
  • Board self-assessment

This training is open to all staff and board members of nonprofit organizations throughout Northeast Georgia.
