You will be stationed inside or outside the park and must arrive at 6:00 am. You will have a flag and will point runners in the right direction. There are some twists and turns in the run so it will be important to be at your station at all times during the race. Please place signs and remove them as directed. We also ask that you look around your area and pick up any race trash that you see. It will also be important for you to stay at your station until you are positive that all of the runners have finished. There will be one aid station you will be responsible for. It is located inside the Waterford Neighborhood.

Mount Volunteers –All of you will have to be loud and firm. They will assure that nobody mounts their bike before the “mount line.” Racers must walk their bikes out to the mount line and can only mount when told to get ready. You will be dealing with racers who just got out of the water and want to make the best time possible so watch them carefully.

Dismount Volunteers – All of you will have to make sure that each racer dismounts his or her bike at the proper time and place. We also need a couple of people to station themselves before the mount line to remind racers to slow down. We’ve had accidents in this area.

There will be additional volunteers in the transition area helping to transition from swim to bike and from bike to run so you will have lots of help if you need it. You will need to arrive at the park by 6:15 am.

Arrive at the park at 6:30 AM. The t-shirt table will be located under the community pavilion (where the volunteer meeting takes place). T-shirts will be in boxes in the storage closet. Separate t-shirts by size. You will have a list of racers and their t-shirt sizes. There will be a separate list for relay teams. When racers ask for their shirt, look at the size that is on their bib. Mark through their t-shirt size so you will know they have already received their shirt. If the size is not listed on the BIB look on the list of racers. Some racers will forget to bring their BIB, or it will wear off. If someone wants to exchange their shirt for a different size, direct them to a certain area where they exchange with other people. If a race has “NT” written on their shirt, they registered late and are not guaranteed to get a shirt. They can check back or leave their name and email and we can contact them if we have extra.
