  • Lead with empathy, confidence, humility, honesty and consistency.

  • Supervise the safety and well-being of all participants and volunteers assigned

  • Ensure participants are physically, emotionally, and mentally safe at all times

  • Ensure the collective group experience is organized, intentional, and cohesive

  • Ensure each participant's individual experience is fun, engaging, and personalized

  • Ensure each volunteer experience is educational, rewarding, and empowering

  • Exhibit professionalism and politeness in word and action at all times, especially in situations of conflict or incident.  This includes but is not limited to:

    • Interactions with participants

    • Interactions with families

    • Interactions with staff

    • Interactions with leadership

    • Interactions in the community

  • Intern will wear ESP branded shirt each day he/she is interning

  • Come into all days and activities with well-thought out plans, objectives, and direction

  • Maintain cleanliness of ESP spaces

  • Maintain up to date, accurate records on participants- including daily buddy charts, weekly activity plans, incident reports, and update camper profiles as needed

  • Follow through with all communications, projects, or circumstances requiring attention whether during or outside of standard program hours

  • Take initiative in any matter potentially compromising a participant's or volunteer's safety and well-being

  • Seek collaborative opportunity and insight from the Program Coordinators

  • Assist fellow interns cooperatively in their preparations, plans, or execution of such when needed

  • Utilize systems of support- including task delegation to volunteers and seeking help from Program Coordinators or leadership as needed

  • Communicate constantly with Program Coordinators and fellow interns on plans, needs, and issues as they occur

  • Provide consistent feedback and show appreciation for efforts by staff, volunteers and participants

  • Always be adaptable, ready, and prepared

  • Be the example you wish to see in others
