About

This page has been created to consolidate as many of the volunteer opportunities and supply drive needs related to covid-19 for the Athens-Clarke County community to one location. If you are an organization who has an Engage GA/GivePulse page and you would like to share opportunities to this page, please click the 'affiliate' button to the right. If you are an individual who would like to volunteer, please see the list of opportunities below. If you are an agency or organization who is not on the platform, but you would like to advertise a volunteer opportunity please reach out to Josh Podvin (jhpodvin@uga.edu).

We encourage all agencies sharing opportunities to develop protocols for ensuring that volunteer opportunities are safe for members of the general public (temperature checks, hand washing protocol, safe distances for volunteers, etc.). Additionally, please take special care when creating events on this platform in order to provide specific expectations regarding volunteer protocol.

If you are an individual looking to volunteer or donate supplies, please consider the following:
  • Know the CDC Guidelines for protecting yourself (and others): https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html
  • If you are feeling sick or have a temperature you should not volunteer
  • If you have come in contact with someone who has covid-19 you should not volunteer
  • Volunteers should practice social distancing and maintain at least 6 feet between each other
  • Volunteers should wash their hands frequently
  • Volunteers should avoid touching their face during engaging in volunteer activities
  • Volunteers should review and follow all event details closely when signing up for opportunities
If you have any questions related to this page please feel free to contact Josh Podvin, Assistant Director for Community Partnerships in the UGA Office of Service-Learning: jhpodvin@uga.edu.
