Experience UGA is a partnership between the Clarke County School District and the University of Georgia, which brings all 13,000+ Clarke County School District students (PreK-12) to UGA's campus every year. Through a variety of field trips, Clarke County students participate in hands-on, curricular-based learning activities. It is our goal to foster interest in the pursuit of higher education among Clarke County students through increased exposure to college life with our programs.
Please Note: In order to volunteer with Experience UGA, you must attend a General Volunteer Orientation.*
We will not be holding any more volunteer orientations for the fall, but will be hosting more in the spring! If you are interested in volunteering right away and have not yet attended a session, please email Alison Doherty at email@example.com.
At the orientation sessions, our Experience UGA Ambassadors will discuss all the trips offered this fall, share important minors on campus information that is required for volunteering with kids at UGA, explain how to register for trips on the Engage platform, and talk about their roles as Experience UGA Ambassadors and how to apply to be an ambassador.
Some trips provide brief orientations on the day of, which are noted on the individual event descriptions.
Interested in taking on a greater leadership role with Experience UGA by engaging with the community, learning about issues surrounding education, and working with Clarke County Students? Apply to become an Experience UGA Ambassador!
The Experience UGA Ambassadors will serve from the beginning of Spring 2019 - the end of Fall 2019 as ambassadors for the University of Georgia to the Clarke County School District. They will create a presence in the community through their participation in Experience UGA trips and events as well as School District and community events.
Serving as an Experience UGA Ambassador will be included on your Experiential Learning Transcript (and meets the requirement for students in the College of Education, College of Family and Consumer Sciences, and College of Arts and Sciences). Experience UGA Ambassadors will enhance their leadership competency by developing their skills in civic engagement, critical thinking, communication, ethical reasoning, and reflection, and have the opportunity in the future to take on further leadership roles within the program if desired.
Your acceptance to the Experience UGA Ambassador program will be contingent upon passing a background check.
