About
Bethany Christian Services' Refugee Resettlement Program in Athens is committed to helping refugees establish their lives in the US. We provide a range of services to aid in resettlement with the goal of our clients becoming self-sufficient and successful members of society. Refugee families have experienced significant challenges in their journey of coming to the US. Bethany caseworkers help refugees rebuild their lives by providing a number of core services.
Trusted volunteers are needed for transporting newly arrived refugee adults and youth to medical appointments, job interviews, and stores to shop for necessities. This is a fun way to meet refugee families while helping them get to the places they need to go.
All volunteers who will be working directly with clients are required to attend a volunteer orientation and undergo a background check.
Transportation volunteer requirements:
- at least 21 years old
- clean driving record
- proof of insurance and valid driver's license
